Diablo 4 has multiple heroes you can choose from, and each class offers unique playstyles due to their mechanics. While you can “main” a particular character, you can still try others to see what they bring to the table. Here’s our Diablo 4 class hub guide to help you with the different heroes you can choose from.

Diablo 4 Class Hub: Playable Classes and Their Gameplay

There are currently five Diablo 4 classes that we know of. These are the Barbarian, Rogue, Wizard, Necromancer, and Druid. They each have unique mechanics that allow for varied gameplay, namely their abilities (ie abilities that can be activated), talents (ie passives), and specific quirks to make them stand out.

a magician

Diablo 4 Wizard is your traditional wizard. This character harnesses the power of the elements, burning enemies with fire, freezing them with ice, or extinguishing them with lightning. The class also uses the Enchantment mechanic, where active abilities can be equipped for a passive boon.

barbarian

Everyone loves the barbarian, a staple of the Diablo series. These brutes charge headlong into battle, leaping to crush opponents and shouting their war cries at the top of their lungs. Barbarians use the Arsenal of Weapons mechanic, where their abilities require a special type of weapon (ie slashing, blunt, two-handed, and the like). They can freely switch their weapons to activate and switch between various attacks.

Rogue

Rogues are your nominal skill-based class, agile and nimble, running fast to avoid attacks or attacking when you least expect it. Like characters from previous games like Amazon and Demon Hunter, Rogues offer a mix of melee and varied experience. Additionally, the Imbuement mechanic allows them to imbue attacks with poison, cold, or shadow damage.

  • Rogue Talents (coming soon)
  • Rebel Constructions (coming soon)
Like a Diablo 4 Rogue, you can deal damage up close, then zoom out to shoot enemies from afar.

Necromancer

Necromancers tend to be a longtime Devil favorite. It is partly due to their background (ie they are Rathma Priests) and their strengths. Chief among these is a means to raise undead minions, blow up corpses, and use the powers of bone and poisons. Diablo 4 Necromancer will be available during the open beta, which will run from March 24th to March 27th.

Druid

The Diablo 4 Druid is a hybrid class. First, they can cast some spells, because their communion with nature allows them to call upon the elements. On the other hand, they can also transform into wild animals, destroying enemies that get too close. Like the Necromancer, the Druid will also be playable during the open beta.

Diablo 4 is currently in its beta phase. As such, some of the information here may change as we get closer to the game’s official release on June 6th. We will update this guide accordingly.
