A Pokémon’s physical features can determine whether they stay in your party or not. Not only their typing and abilities, but their basic stats will decide whether they stay in your party or not. As you travel through the Paldea region in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you’ll notice that many of the same Pokémon can roam around in groups and vary in size. But does this bigger Pokémon have better stats than the others?

Do larger Pokémon have better stats in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?
From our experience, we haven’t noticed any significant difference in Pokémon size in relation to their stats. If you see a group of Pokémon walking around in the wild, the bigger one may be a higher level than the others, but if its stats are superior to the others it has to do with the RNG at play when deciding on their IVs and natures. If you catch a larger Pokémon in a group and it has amazing stats, you’re lucky with that particular catch rather than being set up for success.
The only time larger Pokémon are naturally always stronger than normal is when you face one of the biggest Titan Pokémon in the game. Of course, this is tied to the main development and, while you can fight them many times, they will not be caught.
In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the size of the Pokémon you catch in the wild plays a bigger role in the game. From what we’ve seen up to this point, size has no overall effect on your Pokémon’s performance. Instead, pay attention to their character, IVs, hidden abilities, and overall make-up so you can decide what your team has for the battles.
