The Fitbit Versa 2, one of Fitbit’s newest smartwatches, packs a lot of great features. And the boxy look adds to the experience. The best part of this smartwatch is that it is not only focused on fitness and has an intelligence component. Yes, what you read is correct. You can activate Alexa to play music and install apps on your Fitbit Versa 2. And the good thing is that the process is easy and takes little time.
If you recently bought the Fitbit Versa 2 or plan to buy it, here’s how you can add and install apps and add songs to it.
Let’s go straight there, shall we?
How to install apps on Fitbit Versa 2
While there aren’t many third-party apps for the Versa 2, the ones that are available work well. For example, there’s this cool app called Ionic Water that lets you track your daily water intake. One of my favorite apps is Workflow, which helps you increase your focus and, in the process, makes you more productive.
Then there are apps like Moments, which show you how many seconds you’ve lived so far. Funny right? The best part of these apps is that they are simple and easy to understand.
Step 1: Open the Fitbit app on your phone and tap the small Account icon in the top left corner. Select Versa 2 under devices, and then select Apps.
Here you will see two options: My Apps and All Apps. Touch All apps to browse all available apps.

And most of them are separated into different categories.
Step 2: Now, choose one that suits your needs. Just tap it and press the Install button, and the process will be complete in a few hours.

Please note that the installation time is a bit longer. At the same time, keep Bluetooth enabled on your phone.
The Versa 2 also comes with a suite of pre-installed apps like Deezer and Spotify, among others. If you want to remove some of these apps, go to the My Apps section and select the app you don’t need. And well, you know the other way.
How to add music to Fitbit Versa 2
The Versa 2 has plenty of onboard memory that can be used to store music tracks offline. That way, when you jog or run, you can leave your phone at home and instead listen to tunes directly from your phone through a quality pair of Bluetooth headphones. Looks good right?

The only limitation is that the Versa 2 doesn’t allow you to transfer songs via the mobile app. Instead, you have to use the desktop app for this. But don’t worry, the process is not difficult and only takes a few minutes.
on your watch
Touch the Music app and select Transfer music.

That will open a gateway for transferring songs.
on your computer
Step 1: At the same time, open the app on your PC and click on the small Music icon at the top.
If you are using this app for the first time, please log in with the same credentials you used on your phone.

Your PC must have a working Bluetooth network before trying to connect the watch to your PC.

If your PC doesn’t have built-in Bluetooth, you may want to consider purchasing one of the Bluetooth adapters from our curated recommendations.
Step 2: Click Manage Wi-Fi to connect your smartwatch to a Wi-Fi network via Bluetooth.
At this point, your PC will ask you to pair the Versa 2. Once this is done, it will connect to the Wi-Fi network that your PC is currently connected to.

This completes the tricky part. Now, let’s start the transition.
Step 3: After connecting to the Wi-Fi network, touch Personal music > Music storage.

The good thing is that the application automatically searches your PC for existing playlists. If you can’t find one, you can click the Create New Playlist button to create one.

Give the playlist a new name and drag the songs into the Fitbit window. After that, sync those songs to the clock.

Step 4: For that, click on the small Done icon, as shown in the screenshot below, to complete the transfer.

Depending on the number of songs and the quality of the songs, the transfer may take some time. The good news is that everything happens in the background and does not interfere with your work.
When the transfer is complete, tap Finish now on your watch to end the connection.
Connect headphones to Versa 2
So you have downloaded the songs to your watch. Ready to run. Here’s a little catch. You can’t play songs on your Versa 2 because it doesn’t have a speaker.
You’ll need a good pair of sports (wireless) headphones to go with it. Fortunately, it’s easy to pair them with the watch.
