Where to find buried treasure in Minecraft

To find buried treasure in Minecraft, first, you need to get a Treasure Map. The only way to get a Treasure Map is to find a sunken ship. They are found in ocean biomes most of the time, but sometimes you can find them washed up on a beach out of the water. There aren’t too many of them in the world, so be sure to keep your eye out when exploring your world.

Enter the ship, and there will be a chest holding a Treasure Map along with other items. When you’re underwater, be sure to hurry. Up to two more chests can be on the ship, but only one has the map you want.

Once you have your Treasure Map, take it out and look at it. As you might expect, the X marks the place where you need to go. Usually, the buried treasure is located on the beach but sometimes it is underwater like a ship. You will see your player icon on the map, so direct yourself to the right place until you find it. When you reach the X on the map, start digging, and you will find it at a point underground.

Buried treasure chests often have a Heart of the Sea in them, as well as other items you can get. Make sure to remove everything and make your way back from your dig location safely.
