The Psychic Cup is a limited-time Battle League competition in Pokémon Go. You’ll have the chance to pit some of your best Psychic-type Pokémon against other players, creating several teams to try out. Not all of your combinations will be winners, but we can help narrow down your options by sharing with you some of the best Pokémon you can choose for this competition. This guide contains the level list for the Psychic Cup in Pokémon Go.
Psychic Cup level list
The Psychic Cup allows you to use Psychic-type Pokémon. They must be at or below 1,500 CP. You can use any Pokémon that meets these requirements, except Mew. Mew is not allowed to participate in this competition.

Lead tier list
Your Lead Pokémon is the first one you will use against your opponent. You want to make sure it has a decent amount of attack and defense power and is a balanced option against almost any Pokémon your opponent might use. However, don’t be afraid to trade it for your Switch option, especially its storage. We usually recommend reserving at least one shield for this Pokémon.
Tier | Pokémon |
S | Alolan Raichu, Bruxish, Gardevoir (shadow), and Victini |
A | Galarian Rapidash, Galarian Slowbro, Medicham, and Wobbuffet |
B | Bronzong, Claydol, Cresselia, and Malamar |
c | Celebi, Galarian Slowking, Jirachi, and Slowbro (shadow) |
d | Latias (shadow), Latios, Lunatone, and Solrock |
Switch to the level list
The Switch Pokémon is what you switch to when you use your Lead or Closer Pokémon, more often, it’s the Lead. You want this Pokémon to have more power than the others, with no defensive power to make sure it can do a lot of heavy damage against your opponents. Switch Pokémon may be one of your stronger options, but it’s also a good counter option for your Lead Pokémon, making sure it can protect its weaknesses. We recommend reserving at least one shield for this, sometimes two.
Tier | Pokémon |
S | Bronzong, Galarian Rapidash, Gardevoir, and Victini |
A | Alolan Raichu, Bruxish, Cresselia, and Hypno |
B | Defense Forme Deoxys, Galarian Slowking, Malamar, and Metagross |
c | Lunatone, Mr. Rime, Solrock, and Wobbuffet |
d | Celebi, Claydol, Latios, and Medicham |
Closer list of levels
The Closer Pokémon on your team is the last option you want to use against your opponent. It has the highest defense power shown in your options and is the best Pokémon to use as a final protective barrier between you and your opponent. We do not recommend using any shield for this choice as it should be able to withstand most attacks.
